Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions govern members’ participation in ICB’s online networking services, including forums, virtual meetups, and other digital communication platforms (collectively referred to as “Networking Services”). By participating in these services, members agree to comply with these terms, the ICB Professional Conduct Regulations, and any additional guidelines issued by ICB.

2. Eligibility and Access

2.1. Access to the Networking Services is available exclusively to ICB members of good standing.

2.2. ICB reserves the right to restrict, suspend, or terminate access for any member who breaches these terms or the Professional Conduct Regulations.

3. Member Responsibilities

3.1 Professional Conduct

Members must adhere to the ICB Professional Conduct Regulations at all times when engaging in the Networking Services. This includes:

  • Maintaining respectful, courteous, and professional communication.
  • Avoiding defamatory, discriminatory, or offensive language or behavior.
  • Refraining from sharing confidential or proprietary information.

3.2 Use of Networking Services

Members must ensure that their contributions are relevant and constructive. The Networking Services are intended for professional networking, collaboration, and knowledge sharing among bookkeeping professionals.

Members must not:

  • Post commercial content or advertisements without prior authorisation from ICB.
  • Engage in spamming, phishing, or any form of fraudulent activity.
  • Share examination questions, answers, or any other assessment-related material.
  • Create breakaway groups or alternative networking forums that divert members away from the official ICB Networking Services or undermine the integrity and purpose of the ICB community.

4. Privacy and Data Protection

4.1. Members must respect the privacy of others and avoid sharing personal data without explicit consent.

4.2. Participation in the Networking Services may involve the sharing of personal data (e.g., names, job titles, and contact details). By participating, members agree that this data may be visible to other members as part of the networking experience.

5. Content and Intellectual Property

5.1. Members retain ownership of any original content they post but grant ICB a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, and distribute the content for the purposes of promoting and facilitating the Networking Services.

5.2. Members must ensure they have the right to share any content they post and must not infringe on the intellectual property rights of others.

6. Monitoring and Moderation

6.1. ICB may monitor and moderate content shared within the Networking Services to ensure compliance with these terms.

6.2. ICB reserves the right to edit or remove content that violates these terms or the Professional Conduct Regulations.

7. Disclaimer and Liability

7.1. The Networking Services are provided for professional networking and informational purposes only. ICB does not endorse or take responsibility for the accuracy of content shared by members.

7.2. Members use the Networking Services at their own risk. ICB is not liable for any loss or damage arising from participation in these services.

8. Breach of Terms

8.1. Any breach of these Terms and Conditions or the Professional Conduct Regulations may result in disciplinary action, including suspension or termination of access to the Networking Services.

8.2. Serious breaches may be referred to the ICB Disciplinary Committee for further action, in line with the Professional Conduct Regulations.

9. Amendments

ICB reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Members will be notified of significant changes, and continued participation in the Networking Services will constitute acceptance of the updated terms.
